Expressway Atlanta, GA 30341 Attn: Pat McWhorter Dear Mr. McWhorter: The level of activity has increased somewhat in both houses and I anticipate the pace will accelerate considerably by the end of this week or early next. As you may know, the Governor has announced that authorized expenditures for the various state agencies be reduced by 75 million dollars between now and the end of the fiscal year, June 30, 1992. When the full impact of that becomes apparent to state employees, contractors, and suppliers around the state, there will be substantial increases in the area of tax legislation proposed and probably in the area of alternative sources of revenue, such as legalization of certain types of gambling activities. We are enclosing copies of bills which we believe to be of interest to our business. The two Sales Tax Bills are not specifically related to us in any manner different than their relation to the general public but the defeat or passage of those bills will have significant affect on the political and business climate of this state.
