Harlow Dept. of Research and Development The American Tobacco Company Richmond, Virginia, H. U. A. Dear Ed: I am enclosing a few sheets to help bring up todate the booklet, "A Review of the Biologic Research on Tobacco". This is in answer to the request of your letter - which, as you surmised, was also relayed in a letter from Paul. I have two things for which to apologize, my lateness, and the fact that some of the details are missing in a few cases. My lateness, in part, is the result of a rather severe attack of flue or some Chilean infection which put me out of commission for some time, although I did manage to stagger out to give a few lectures. The lack of completeness I have tried to indicate with red marks on the enclosed. Our library facilities here are often quite behind the times. Apparently the journals come through in batches and are often very delayed. Hence, I have not be able to supply page numbers, etc. in all cases. Evelyn and Jeffrey are on a boat somewhere in the Pacific now. I imagine that they are about to dock in Colombia where coffee will be loaded. They should be in Richmond around the 23rd of August and I shall arrive by plane early in September. It will be nice to see you and I hope that we will be able to give you a good sample of Chilean wine. With best wishes to all, Sincerely, Herbert, McKennis, Jr. encl P.S. All of the work was supported in part by TIRC. I have not indicated this on the disclosure.
