Vogt, Ph.D. Department of Microbiology University of Southern California School of Medicine 2011 Zonal Avenue, HMR-401 Los Angeles, CA 90033-1054 Dear Peter: On behalf of the Council for Tobacco Research and its Scientific Advisory Board, I want to thank you once again for joining us two weeks ago at our meeting. Your presentation was splendid and we're very grateful. I also want to reextend Bill Hobbs' invitation to join us for all or a part of our winter "think tank" meeting at Scottsdale, Arizona. We will convene on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 28, 1988 and the scheduled meeting with our guest speakers will be the following day, Monday, Feb. 29, 1988. As indicated, you and your wife would be accorded first class travel and all expenses. If you wish to stay for the remainder of the meeting to Wednesday, March 2, we would be pleased to have you as our guests. We also sincerely hope that you will give serious consideration to joining our Scientific Advisory Board. As you appreciate, it is an outstanding group of biomedical scientists, highly compatible and clearly performing a very important task. It would require 3-4 days of your time twice annually, but I can assure you that it will be an investment in which you will take great pride. I realize that you may not be able to make an immediate decision about the SAB, but if you could see your way clear to joining us even a year or so hence, we would be extremely pleased. I look forward to hearing from you. With warmest regards, I am, Sincerely, James F. Glenn, M.D. JFG/ff cc: William D. Hobbs, Chairman of the Board Robert F. Gertenbach, Esq., President
