He will be accompanying Dr. Gary Huber who in August 1980 became Director of the Tobacco and Health Research Institute at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Huber is responsible for direction of smoking and health research under a state-supported budget of $3.5 million per year. Prior to accepting the directorship of the Kentucky Institute, Dr. Huber headed an important research program at Harvard Medical School where he received major governmental and industry funding for relevant studies of chronic pulmonary and other illnesses. B.A.T. has arranged for Ernie and Dr. Huber to spend time with Dr. Rittershaus, who is in charge of the laboratory, and Mr. Seehofer.
