Giles INTERNAL DEVELOPMENTS Sensory Evaluations Plans for the Phoenix Moisture Study are complete. Central location testing will be conducted Aug. 4-6. Sensory and analytical support of the menthol equilibration investigation has been underway for two weeks and expected to continue through August. The impact on both areas is substantial. In response to a Quality First flag, samples from a 1700-case lot of SALEM Light 100's were evaluated. Discrimination panels revealed no difference from regular product. Results were reported to Q.A. Environmental PSD monitoring stations are in place at the Tobaccoville site and complete except for power hookup. Data collection will require one year. The contractor, TRC, will format the data, perform the modelling studies and prepare the PSD permit application for submission tot he Forsyth County Environmental Affairs Department by late 1982. Wastewater sampling for priority pollutants was initiated 7-27-81. Following the initial work to identify and quantitate pollutants, the ongoing monitoring system will be put in place.
