The White House has made the decision to move tobacco to the back burner having calculated they don't want a tobacco fight and fallout that comes with it. Edwards was told that the White House has decided to get rid of Kessler if Clinton is re-elected. Kessler has told Horowitz that he wants to leave. Take all of that for what its worth, but Horowitz is very plugged in. Re: the op-ed. Charlie contacted the Post again this week and has not heard back from them. I told him to go ahead and approach the San Diego paper which he will do this afternoon.
