Tabacalera Nacional Apartado de Correos 287 Caracas Venezuela, S. A. Dear Mebane: Received your letter of May 25th today. The information you requested has been given to Dr. Wakeham who will forward it on to you. Am pleased that Mr. Fielden thought the treated Negro tobacco was improved. The 70/30 - Virginia/burley cigarettes were forwarded to you by air mail on May 12. Any information you can give me on the experimental cigarettes would be appreciated. We will make blend and/or flavor modifications based upon the results of the evaluations made down there. I have not received the tobaccos of the two crops shipped by Mr. Fielden. The samples from the experiments conducted by Billy Apple were received Monday of this week. Everything here is going along as usual. Saw George, Hugh, and Frank on Tuesday. Mr. Tucker on vacation again. There will be loose leaf sales for the first week in all of the bright belts. Same procedure as that originally proposed for S. C. Betty has seen and talked to Mrs. Craig. She and Craig seem to be getting along fine. Betty is planning to take Mrs. Craig to a story league luncheon on Saturday. We have been most anxious to hear from you all. Trust Libby is feeling fine again. Kindest personal regards to you and Libby. Sincerely, John John Y. Mason, Jr. JYM:ib
