Annual Meeting, 2-5 May 1971 Research-on-Research Task Groups A very important part of the Scottsdale meeting program is the Research-on-Research Committee's presentation Tuesday afternoon, 4 May, when you will be expected to join one of the Task Group Round Tables (see Preliminary Program for location at Camelback Inn). Chairman Jason Salisbury of American Cyanamid strongly urges each member to attend and participate in the development of a topic of his choice, from the following: Project Selection: Chaired by Bob Gee of E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company, this Task Group's purpose is to develop a practical and workable method for optimizing the selection of research projects. Relationship of R & D with Other Corporate Functions: Neil Culp (Carpenter Technology Corporation) is Chairman, and the Group's objective is to determine whether the relation of R & D to other corporate functions is satisfactory or needs improvement: If improvement is necessary, to recommend how best to achieve this goal. Evaluation of R & D Results: Chairman Bob Steel is with American Oil Company, and his Group has as its purpose to develop a practical and workable method for the post-appraisal of research results. Stimulation of Creativity and Productivity: John Garber, Chairman, is with CPC International. This Group, having circularized I.R.I. member companies on whether they have made creativity studies, will report on its findings.
