Lorillard's spokesperson noted that in issuing these test results, the FTC may leave the erroneous impression that carbon monoxide from cigarette smoke has been shown to be a significant threat to human health. Lorillard pointed out that the relevant scientific literature in this regard is inconclusive, and does not justify the FTC action. ####
